Foodtrainers' Holiday Helper Rosh Rules (and YK too)

Well, actually don't We’ve just shifted out of summer mode and the holidays are upon us. While it can feel like September presents one thing after another, we're hoping that since  many of us are still casting off our summer holiday treatsare slightly less alluring (maybe?) Here are Foodtrainers’ tips for a “sweet” new year. The only thing sweeter than honey cake is feeling svelte when September ends. Agree? Thought so.  Rosh Rules (and YK too)  Create room for holiday meals . If you’re familiar with Foodtraining through the holidays .you know that we believe in utilizing pre and post holiday days. For every holiday meal, have 1 day where you skip anything sweet (wine  and  fruit are sweet).  Secret Holiday Weapons : have lemon squeezed in water before your holiday meal, this will prevent your blood sugar from rising sky high and may displace a glass of wine. GREAT EXPECTATIONS

Happy New Year! I live with expectations for myself, and push the word of anticipation of something to happen into making it happen.   Truly, I am responsible for my own expectations and waiting around just does not make sense.   The problem with expectations, and I have been guilty in years gone way past of this BIG NO NO…creating “unrealistic expectations”…you know…the kind that we create in our heads that say, and I will use “he” for this example, is going to surprise me with flowers, dinner, dancing and when “he” shows up offering nothing but his cute self ready to tune in to some sports event on TV, a 3-alarm fire goes off in our heads, feelings of anger and OMG…how could he let me down like that…and guess what…the night is ruined…WHY…Did he do anything…NO.   What did I do … well, I created this unrealistic expectation in my own mind…HOW CRAZY IS THAT.   Can you relate…been there and done that maybe? Balance, Life, and Vacation

On Vacation! If you tuned into my last Blog, you may have figured out that I was going on vacation…well…I DID and had a blast…except for the nasty scrape and bruise to my bootie that I am still healing from …talk about a pain in the backside…YIKES…I will go more into that in a bit.   Let me just tell you that I am a simple gal and when it comes to our boat trips, I pack light because we are usually in swim suits most of the time, don’t wear makeup…don’t need it and rarely wear it anyway, lots of sunscreen…non-stinging waterproof please, Burt’s Bees lip balm, and my MUST have leave in spray conditioner to get out the tangles from lots of swimming;)…Woo Hoo that is what I am talking about…simplicity as it’s vacation BEST.  When Friday came, I took my watch off and did not concern myself with what time it was for one full week…no time constraint, no schedules…AHHH…such a free feeling to do whatever I wanted, when I wanted without hurry, deadline, and just reading my body for eat...
